How to claim past rental depreciation?

Hi and thanks in advance for the help. I have read some previous posts but I just want to clarify my specific situation with your help.

I bought a home in April 2016. We moved and began renting it in June 2018. So for the past 7 years it has been rented continuously. I just learned about the rental deprivation that I was supposed to claim this while time. What it is the best way to start the process to try to recoup some of those years if possible? The land value was 160K when purchased, do I need the land value when the property started to be used as a rental as well? I know I definitely need a professional to help us with this so it gets done and fixed the right way. Thanks again for the help!

this cannot be done by amending previous returns since some are for closed years. you would need to file form 3115 with your tax return for the year of correction. I strongly recommend you use a tax professional.
