The 1099-MISC should be added to the Federal entry under 1099-MISC. Once entered, you will receive an interview question asking for the EIN. (see screenshot below)
The information entered on the 1099-MISC field will automatically transfer over to your state return.
This is my problem.
I filled in this part. But it is not shown on my state tax document.
Can you clarify if you are receiving a rejection for missing EIN? Looking at the 1099-MISC entry in TurboTax, there is not an option to enter the EIN. You just need to enter the type of income. See screenshots below:
No, I have not submitted my forms yet.
As you said, there is no option to add the EIN for the miscellaneous income. I just wanted to ensure that I did not miss something.
I'm unsure how to inform the developer team, but they can resolve this.
I probably will proceed with adding the EIN to the end of the payer name.
Your workaround should work perfectly. You may need to abbreviate the payer name to fit the EIN, so it will be viewable - you can have numbers entered in the payer name field. Did you receive any error messages?
It may be the case that the EIN information is included with the electronic submission to the state, but it doesn't show on the printed form?? We can and will pass this along; thank you!
