You can enter multiple 1099-INT forms from the same bank by combining the totals from each box into one entry or you can add them separately. If you add them separately, just click on Add Investments and continue through the screens to select another 1099-INT form after you add the first one.

Refer to the TurboTax article Where do I enter Form 1099-INT? for navigation instructions.  Review Filing Tax Form 1099-INT: Interest Income for more information.

It USED to be that you could 'add supporting details' and on each line put the account number and the total amount reported for each account. Then the supporting details table would total the individual amounts for you and it would be just like the form received in the mail....one mailing....multiple 1099-INTs shown in the one document, one for each account, same institution. Did it this way last year. This year it's not allowing me to put in supporting details, and frustrated that I have to do separate 1099-INT forms for each account for the same institution.

Why did this change?

don't know the change you're describing but you don't need to enter separate 1099-INTs for each account into Turbotax just add it up and enter one 1099-INT per payer.

Yeah, I KNOW that....but prefer to have supporting information showing the different accounts and how much was reported on each, to allow TT to do the addition for me, so that I don't make a math or data-entry error. It just used to work one way and has changed in a way that makes it harder.

One simple way to enter distinguishing information for more than one 1099-INT from the same payer is to enter a description for each account on the same line as the payer name, such as "Blabla Bank MM Savings" and "Blabla Bank CD".

If you have a suggestion for programming enhancement, such as to restore the ability to add supporting details, you can submit your suggestion the next time you receive a survey from TurboTax.
