How or where do I enter the 6 digit code?

What type of 6-digit code?  What are you doing?  Does it have to do with email verification?  Or is it an Identity Protection PIN (IP PIN) or what?

How or where do I enter the 6 digit code?

It has to do with email verification and then getting it accepted

How or where do I enter the 6 digit code?

What were you doing that prompted the code?   Were you trying to log in?  Were you trying to file your return and got asked for the code, or what?

Or did the code come to your email unsolicited?  If so, that's a different ballgame.  If you got an unsolicited email, do not click on any links or open any attachments.

If you got an unsolicited email, do not click on any links or open any attachments.   There are a lot of dangerous scams going around this time of year.

The NUMBERS that I used was not from unsolicited emails. I always check the senders address before I open it. Is There another way to file my return??

When you go to retrieve the code, do NOT close the original screen where you are asked for the code.  You have to keep the verification screen open while you use a second tab or second window to retrieve the code from your email.  Then you enter it in the screen that you left open.  If you close that original screen, it resets everything, and the code will be seen as "expired."

If you'd rather get text messages, see if you can do this?  If your return is open, see if you can click on MY ACCOUNT and then go into Account Settings and then to the Security tab.  Then scroll to "Two-Step Verification".  You may be able to switch to text messages to get the code.

If you are unable to use email or text messages to get the code, does the interface where it asks for the code have a  link "Get help signing in?"  If so, on the next screen should be an option to "Try Something Else".  That should offer you a different method.
