I have 3000+ stock transactions to manually enter. Some are wash trades. I know I could summarizes and mail in form 8453 along with the 1099-B but am wanting to know if software can handle 3000+ transactions.

TTax has previously noted that the limit in the Desktop version was variously 2000 or 2500 entries. Recently they have stated that there is no 'specific' limit or quantity. They now state that as the number of entries approach or exceed approximately 2000 there will be a reduction of performance may be noticed --the program operation will slow down. This is not limited to the PC processor or memory configuration, but appears to be a limitation of the software performance.

Do you really want to enter 3000 transactions manually ??
How many wash sales?
Do you know that TurboTax now handles Schedule D Line 1a and Line 8a.?
Only the wash sales go on Form 8949; note the 8949 subtotals for those and subtract from Category A Total cost and proceeds to get the amounts that go on schedule D Line 1a.
If there are too many wash sales, it will be easier to use the Mail-in election.
BUT
First try importing the consolidated 1099-B from your broker's website; it may succeed, and then you are done !
