How do I write a 1099misc?

If you received a Form 1099-MISC , please follow the steps below to report the form.:

1.Sign into your Online account and select Take me to my return.

2. Select Federal  in the left side panel.

3. In the upper right corner click on Search.

4. In the search box type 1099misc.(see screenshot below)

5. Then click on Jump to 1099misc (see screenshot below)

6. This should bring you to the screen that says Let's get the info from your 1099misc.

7. You can then enter the information from the Form that you received.

If you would like to prepare a 1099-MISC for a contractor in TurboTax Self Employed Online, follow the steps below:

1. Sign into your Online account and select the button that says Take me to my return.

2. On the Tax Home screen under 'Manage Your Return' select the option to 'Create W-2's and 1099's'. 

3. This will bring you to 'Quick Employer Forms' 

4. Select 'Create New Form' and follow the onscreen instructions to prepare the 1099-MISC.
