How do I upload my W-2 so I can efile?

1. Open your return in TurboTax. 
   (To do this, sign in to TurboTax and click the orange Take me to my return button.)
2. Using the search feature in the upper right, search for "W-2" (upper or lower case, with or without the dash) and then click the "Jump to" link in the search results.
3. A W-2 screen will open. On this screen you can add, edit or delete a W-2 as necessary. Select Add or Edit.
4. Enter the 9-digit Employer ID Number from your W-2, and click Continue.
   • If your employer is a TurboTax partner, we will lead you through the steps to import your W-2.
   • If your employer is not a TurboTax partner, or if you're otherwise unable to import your W-2:
     • You can snap a photo of your W-2 using the TurboTax Mobile App.

(If you are accessing TurboTax Online on your mobile phone through a web browser, rather than from a computer, you will have the option to snap a photo without using the TurboTax Mobile App.)

If you don't have your employer's EIN or would prefer to skip the import options, you can always manually enter the info from your W-2 instead. Here's how:

1. Follow Steps 1-3 above.
2. On the screen asking for your employer's EIN, just click Continue.
3. Now enter the info from your W-2 into the appropriate boxes.
