How do I switch from deluxe version back to the free version?

As long as you haven't submitted payment, deducted the TurboTax fee from your refund, or registered, you can erase your return and start from scratch in TurboTax Online.

Doing so will take you back to the free version. 

Please follow the instructions here to clear and start over.

I am amending my return and upgraded by amended return to the deluxe version. Deluxe version has not improved my amended my return so I would like to downgrade back to free version. I can't find clear and start over option on the amended return. Can anybody help?

For 2019?

Click on Cancel Amend on the left side of the online program screen.  Select Yes, I want to cancel my amended return and Continue.

Yea it is for 2019. I click cancel amendment, but when I start a new amendment it has me signed up for the deluxe version still.

Then what you are changing on the amended tax return requires a higher edition of the TurboTax online editions than what was supported on the edition you used to file the original tax return.
