How do I see the work that went into calculating amounts?
I was not given the option to View or print (including calculations), only download of return (mailing my return).
There are several calculation methods that TurboTax might use depending on the specific situations in your return. We can tell you how to get a PDF that has all the TurboTax worksheets. The Form 1040 Worksheet shows the method that TurboTax used to figure your tax. On the Form 1040 Worksheet, between Lines 15 and 16, there is a "Tax Smart Worksheet" which shows what TurboTax used to calculate the tax.

NOTE: Remember all PDF tax documents and tax data files are very sensitive files, since they contain your personal ID info, financial data, and possibly bank account numbers, etc. Be sure to store them safely and securely to guard against computer theft, hacking, etc.
there are many ways to calculate your income taxes based on your specific situation. sometimes there are no worksheets.. look at lines 16 through 23 of the 1040 to see if there are specific forms involved.
