How do I remove my schedule D form from my tax return for this year? I had capital loss from 2021, not in 2022 as I did not invest in anything. Just earned income from W2

It is a really small amount so I don’t care and want to delete it and I just want to file my return for free and not pay the extra money for premium 😕 I am a full time student had a part time job in 2022 so that was my only income last year.

You can try deleting the Form 8949 and schedule D, that is where the capital gain or losses would be reported:

  1. Click on Tax Tools in the left menu bar
  2. Click on Tools
  3. Look under Other Helpful Links and choose Delete a form

I'm having the same issue.  Schedule D refuses to be deleted.

My guess is that Schedule D is appearing because you had a carryover of capital losses, which is reported on Schedule D. This seems to be the case for tamduong - I can't tell for Kit-ten.

If you are using the CD/download software (probably not), you might be able to find the Carryover Worksheet and remove the carryover of the capital losses. If you are using the Online product, I don't know that you can do anything about this.
