how do I put lottery winnings on my return

You should have received a W2-G Form with the winning information. To enter this information follow the instructions below

If you are using TurboTax Online 
 

• From the turbotax home screen locate the Income section. Scroll down and click on +Add Income. A menu will appear.
• Scroll down until you see Less Common Income. Select Gambling Winnings and click on Add. This will add it to your main screen. You will have to go back to the main screen, Income section and you will see the Gambling section to enter your W2-G Form. 
   

If you are using TurboTax Desktop

• From the main page, on the Federal Taxes tab, select Wages & Income. 
• Scroll down to the Less Common Income section and click on Prizes, Awards, and Gambling winnings.
