"I filed my return already and it was accepted, not yet approved- " if your return was e-filed and accepted, then this means that there is not an IP PIN on the dependents, or the e-file would have been rejected. There is no IRS status of "approved".
Based on what you have said, your return is apparently being processed by the IRS. In this case, if you are expecting a refund, you can track it by going to Where's My Refund at the IRS website.
If a taxpayer is in a contest with another taxpayer on claiming a dependent, then you should file as soon as possible, since the e-file accepting process will reject any return with the same SSN after the first one was accepted.
Note that if the dependents get an IP PIN but you don't know them or have lost/forgotten them, you can still paperfile the return - the dependents' IP PINs are not required in this case (yours still is required, of course).
Thank you!
How do you request a pin for a minor ? When I tried to set up an ID account for my child and send his verification ID they declined saying he doesn’t meet the age requirement for an account? Therefore I wasn’t able to get the pin so do I have to mail a request?
@TaxBoss Sign in with your ID.me account and you should be able to request an IP PIN for a minor - https://www.irs.gov/identity-theft-fraud-scams/get-an-identity-protection-pin
It’s no option displaying a dependent to be added on the site/link on my account .

Yes, that was my next move Monday. Thanks for your fast responses!
I know this thread is old, but did you ever receive a response from the IRS? Or did you call them? I filed by fax as well and I’m a little anxious.
