How do I know what the exclusion items are in line 27 from Form 6251?

The Line 27 exclusion items from Form 6251 are listed here from the 2019 Form 6251 Instructions, page 14.

If you are filing Form 1040-NR, enter on Form 6251, line 27,

  • the amount from line 5 of the Qualified Dividends and Capital Gain Tax Worksheet in the instructions for Form 1040-NR, line 42, or
  • the amount from line 21 of the Schedule D Tax Worksheet in the Instructions for Schedule D (Form 1040 or 1040-SR), whichever applies (as figured for the regular tax).

  • If you didn’t complete either worksheet for the regular tax, enter the amount from Form 1040-NR, line 41;
    • if zero or less, enter -0-.
    • Form 2555:
      • If you are filing Form 2555, the amount you enter on line 27 will take into account your regular tax capital gain excess, if any. Don’t refigure it using the amount of your AMT capital gain excess.
      • If you are filing Form 2555 and you didn’t complete either the Qualified Dividends and Capital Gain Tax Worksheet or the Schedule D Tax Worksheet for the regular tax, enter the amount from Form 6251, line 20.

How do I know what the exclusion items are in line 27 from Form 6251?

Thank you so much for your reply, but I should have been more clear in my question.  In working on the AMT section to determine if I get credit for AMT paid in prior year, TT is asking me:

Let's get some more info from your last year's return
Adjustments or preferences treated as exclusion items?  ___________

The "learn more" link says:
What can I enter as an exclusion item?

If you filed Form 6251 last year and it contained exclusion items on line 27, you can enter the total of these lines here. An exclusion item is permanently nondeductible for AMT purposes, as opposed to a deferral item which will reverse in later years.

That doesn't make it clear to me if I just put in the amount in line 27 from 2018, or a different total made up of of other lines or exclusion items.

How do I know what the exclusion items are in line 27 from Form 6251?

I did just notice this line on my 2018 Form 8801:

2 Enter adjustments and preferences treated as exclusion items (see instructions)

...and I do have an amount there.  I'm guessing that's the amount to use, but it's odd the "learn more" link doesn't reference this form (8801) instead of 6251.
