Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Thank you so much for your reply, but I should have been more clear in my question. In working on the AMT section to determine if I get credit for AMT paid in prior year, TT is asking me:
Let's get some more info from your last year's return
Adjustments or preferences treated as exclusion items? ___________
The "learn more" link says:
What can I enter as an exclusion item?
If you filed Form 6251 last year and it contained exclusion items on line 27, you can enter the total of these lines here. An exclusion item is permanently nondeductible for AMT purposes, as opposed to a deferral item which will reverse in later years.
That doesn't make it clear to me if I just put in the amount in line 27 from 2018, or a different total made up of of other lines or exclusion items.
