TurboTax never makes your payment for tax due. All TurboTax does is provide your banking/credit card information to the IRS (or state) and it is up to the IRS (or state) to take the payment from your account.
If your e-file was rejected, no information was transmitted to the IRS/state. You say it was "finally accepted" so if your e-file was accepted then you just need to watch your own account to see when the IRS/state take out your payment. You do not say when it was "finally accepted" so we do not know if your return was e-filed and accepted minutes ago or days ago. It could take several days for the IRS/state to take out the payment. TurboTax receives no feedback from the IRS or state after you file, so TT will never know if you paid your tax due. You have to watch your own account.
It was finally accepted this evening 10/22/23. After the first rejection, TurboTax asked for my payment info via credit card, and a second "pending" charge posted, and the original pending charge dropped off. After the second rejection and refile, I did not get a paymet request, and a new pending charge was not logged, and the remaining pending charge is now gone, hence my question as to whether or not TurboTax forwarded the payment info or if it was cancelled outright.
TurboTax does not cancel payment information that you entered. Give a couple of days----and watch your account.
