How do i know if i should file jointly or separately

My husband and I have been separated since may of last year but are not divorced. He did not have enough taxes taken out and I did. Should I file separately?

In almost every case, you are better off filing jointly. Your tax withholdings shouldn't affect your decision, since everything will be combined on a joint return.
