How do I import 2019 online data into 2020 Deluxe desktop?

I used the online deluxe version in 2019 and would like to import personal information from that into my 2020 desktop version (Mac). Anyone know how to do this?

Transfer from Online into the Mac Desktop program. Expand the section on Transferring from Online

One way is to start a 2020 Online return and transfer into that. Then you can download the .tax2020 file from online and just OPEN it in the Desktop program.

Looks like they changed that FAQ. Try this.....

You need to download the .tax file from online to transfer into the Desktop program. Log into your account. Under Your tax returns & documents, select Download .tax file (not the PDF) for the prior year you want and save it to your computer. Then start a new blank return, go up to File-New and transfer from the .tax file you saved.

Or another way is to start a 2020 Online return and transfer into that. Then you can download the .tax2020 file from online and just OPEN it in the Desktop program.
