How do I handle a non-resident state tax form that only asks for wages earned outside the state and doesn't inquire about wages earned inside the state?

I am filing a non-resident state tax form and It is only asking me what my wages were outside the state. Then later, it states that my total income exceeds what I have made in and out of the state and asks for an explanation as to why, but it never asked me how much I made inside of the state and is only putting down what I made inside the state. Any idea how to solve this problem?
