You can edit your information by going back into the File tab of your return:
- Log into your online account; click on Take Me to My Return if it doesn't come up automatically
- At the end of your tax timeline, click on the File tab. You should see Steps 1-3
- Next, click Revisit/Start next to Step 3 (you may wish to go back and review Steps 1-2 to make sure your information is correct. Once your return is submitted & accepted by the IRS, you won't be able to make any changes)
-
Step 3 will show how you chose to file your taxes. Continue to click through the screens until you reach where to enter in your driver's license information. Here you'll be able to edit your information.
*You can try to type in your license number with no dashes or spaces. If you are still
having issues with providing the information, you can leave it blank or
select
"I don't have these ID's"
. It's not necessary for filing, but it is an added measure of security
provided by the IRS to cut down on fraudulent activities.
