Hi,
I am abroad and extended my tax file extension so my new deadline was Oct 15 (instead of Apr 15). I also sent an additional letter to the IRS requesting an additional 2 month extension, which I was suggested to do online.
I am now trying to file my 2018 taxes, however, Turbotax thinks my file is 'complete' and only gives me the option to amend my return. I don't need to AMEND as my 2018 taxes have not yet been filed, but for some reason the turbotax software thinks so. How do I fix this? How can I complete my tax return on turbotax, without switching to another product?
Thank you.
Regards,
Gabriel

E-filing for the 2018 tax season was closed by the IRS permanently and forever on Oct 16, 2019. You have no choice but to print, sign and mail it to the IRS now.
Thank you! Appreciate your help. Wish I knew this before paying $40 on turbotax deluxe thinking it would download the software to help me accomplish this.....
Is there a way to let turbotax run me through the same prompts so I can fill out the forms online automatically, like it does online? Then I can just print and sign the completed form. The form available to me on turbotax requires some amendments but I can only download the pdf.
What if I didnt file in 2019? What do i do and what forms do i need

Go to this TurboTax website to purchase, download and install on a personal computer one of the 2018 desktop editions - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/
