How do I enter stimulus amounts received when filing as married but separate?

When filling out my taxes it asks how much stimulus $ we received, it isn’t clear if we should both enter the full amounts in our separate forms  or if we should split the amounts by 50% when entering these in, since we are filing separately?

How do I enter stimulus amounts received when filing as married but separate?

It sounds like on your 2019 Federal tax return, your claimed married filing jointly and received, as an example,

1st stimulus $1,200 + $1,200 = $2,400

2nd stimulus $600 + $600 = $1,200.

On your 2020 Federal tax returns, you are each claiming married filing separately.

You should each claim the $1,200 and $600 for stimulus payment 1 and 2, respectively.
