After starting the 1099-INT interview, there will be a screen with some financial institution logos and an institution search line. I suspect that is the screen you are referring to.
Those logos and search line are only if you want to import the data from your institution. If you don't plan to import the info, or if the CU is not an import partner, then ignore that screen. Don't enter the CU name in the search line.
Instead, scroll way down to the bottom right, and there is a gray button "I'll type it in myself." You may not see that button unless you scroll down. Click that, then at the next screen you can enter the CU name and enter all the info from your 1099-INT. If you need more data boxes for your 1099-INT, put a checkmark where it says "my form has more data", and more boxes will appear.
