How do I enter my 1099k information

Yes.  The income is considered business income and should be reported.

Currently Form 1099-K income is not entered separately as an income form, but gets reported along with other similar income.

TurboTax Deluxe will handle a limited Schedule C, which is the minimum you will need to report this "self-employment" income (income from 1099-K or 1099-MISC are considered self-employment).  BUT you will not be able to enter expenses incurred with this income.

To enter your Uber income in TurboTax Deluxe (or Premier), please follow these steps:

  1. Click on Federal Taxes > Wages & Income.
  2. Scroll down to the Other Common Income section.
  3. Click on the Start/Revisit box next to Form 1099-MISC  [See Screenshot #1, below.]
  4. On the screen Did you get a 1099-MISC?  click on the Yes button (even though you got a 1099-K).  [Screenshot #2]
  5. Enter the employer information from the 1099-K.
  6. Enter the amount from Box 1a of your 1099-K in Box 7 (Nonemployee Compensation) of the 1099-MISC entry screen.  [Screenshot #3]
  7. Continue through the interview screens, entering the requested information.

If you wish to deduct expenses connected to your Uber income, you will need TurboTax Self-Employed.  Please follow these steps to enter your business income and expenses:

  1. Click on the Business tab > Continue > I'll choose what to work on
  2. In the Business Income and Expenses section, click the Start/Update button.
  3. If you have already started adding information about your business, click on the Edit box next to the business.  [Screenshot #4]
  4. If you haven't already started adding business information, continue through the screens to enter the needed information.
  5. You will now be on the screen Your [business type] Business.  In the Business Income section, click on the Start/Update  box.
  6. On the Business Income screen, click on the Start/Update box next to the appropriate category of income—in your case General Income (1099-k)[Screenshot #5]
  7. Once you're finished inputting your income, you will be brought back to the Business Summary screen.  Continue through the other categories.
  8. You will be brought back to the list of businesses.  Click Done if you have no other businesses to enter.

Click Done with Business on the next screen.
