How do I enter a discount code I received via email from Turbo Tax?

Please follow the steps below to have the discount applied before you complete payment. Please note that you must redeem the promotional offer during the valid period.

1. Log out of TurboTax.
2. Go to the promotional email in your email inbox
3. Click on the Sign In link in the email. Important: you MUST click on the link in the email.
4. Sign in to the account that the email link provided
5. If you never started your return choose a TurboTax product that is right for you. Make sure not to navigate anywhere else then choose a product to continue. If you do you will lose the offer, please repeat steps 1 - 4 to reset the offer code.
6. If you are returning to finish your return click "Take me to my Return". Make sure not to navigate anywhere else, please only click "Take Me to My Return." If you navigate away from "Take Me to My Return" you will lose the offer. Please follow steps 1 - 4 if you navigate away from "Take me to my Return."
7. Once in your return click the File tab.
8. Click Start to review your order.
9. The discount will be applied. The old price will be slashed out and the new one will be presented.
10. Complete the payment in TurboTax and file by the promotional date requirement.

If you received a service code, please follow the instructions below. Service codes apply a discount to the TurboTax Online fee and are granted by our Support Specialists on a case-by-case basis for support-related reasons.

If you received a service code from one of our Support Specialists, here's where you enter it:

1. Sign in to TurboTax and open or continue your return, if you haven't already done so.
2. Once inside your return, select File from the menu on the left (tap in the upper-left corner to open this menu on mobile devices).
3. On the [Name], just X more steps and we'll file your returns screen, select Start next to Step 1.
4. The following screen is a list of all your fees. Scroll all the way down to the bottom and select I have a service code.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter your service code, then proceed.

I followed the instructions exactly and did not receive the discount.  I called Turbotax and the very nice lady explained how to request a refund for the promotional discount.  I followed her instructions as well.  The refund was denied by Turbotax.  If they don't honor their promotions or make it too difficult to take advantage of they don't want my business.
