How can we handle long-distance marriage? (Husband in Ohio and wife in Massachusetts.)

Hello! We have currently a long-distance marriage. My husband works in Ohio and I work in Massachusetts. Is there a way that we can handle federal tax jointly but state taxes separately? Thanks!

Thanks for your answer! We have purchased the download version of TurboTaxDeluxe. If we file joint federal tax return but separate state returns following the instruction here, do we need to spend the additional $39.99 for the second state? Thanks again!

No, you can e-file up to 3 states per federal return. <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3420559">https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3420559</a>
