If you did not receive the first and second stimulus payment then you can claim the Recovery Rebate Credit. Please check line 30 of your Form 1040 if you claimed the Credit.
If you haven't filed you taxes and did not claim the Recovery Rebate Credit, but didn't receive the first and second stimulus payments then follow these steps:
If you have already filed but need to claim the Recovery Rebate Credit because you didn't receive the first and second stimulus payment then you will have to file an amended return (Form 1040X) after your original return has been processed. You can e-file your 2020 amended federal tax return. Please see FAQ How to amend a tax return for instructions.
To be eligible for the recovery Rebate Credit you need to be a U.S. citizen or U.S. resident alien in 2020 and have a Social Security number that is valid for employment.
You cannot be claimed as a dependent by someone else to be eligible.
Your credit amount will be reduced if your 2020 adjusted gross income (AGI) is more than:
