How can i claim my wife when she does not work?
If you are filing a joint return with your spouse, you are essentially “claiming” her on your return.
Your standard deduction will be more than if you use the Married Filing Separate filing status, and you will have two exemptions included as well (one for you, one for your spouse). Since she did not work, you will only enter your income into the return. For more information, see below:
