Horrible bug in TurboTax - it CHANGED my return while e-filing...

I have tried e-filing, and got a federal rejection (as well as state), with this message:

IND-073 - If 'OverpaidAmt' in the return is greater than 'EsPenaltyAmt', then the sum of ['RefundAmt' and 'AppliedToEsTaxAmt' and 'EsPenaltyAmt'] must be equal to 'OverpaidAmt'

So I look at the PDF of the returns saved BEFORE e-filing and see this on my 1040:

Line 19 (overpaid):  591

Line 20a (refund): 0

Line 21 (apply to estimated tax): 591

Line 23 (estimated penalty): 0

Everything correct, right?  Well, then I look at the PDF of the return saved AFTER filing and see:

Line 19 (overpaid): 79

Other lines as above.

Culprit: schedule 1 has mysteriously changed. Before filing it had 0 in line 21 (other income), but after filing, line 21 is showing the amount reported as the earnings portion of the 1099-Q which was paid to me, but was used for my son's university tuition, and I have entered 1099-T data which shows that the entire amount from the 1099-Q was used for tuition.

TurboTax' 'smart check' did not indicate any errors prior to filing...

Any ideas how to fix this disaster?
