This is so frustrating. I need to access my 2016 return that I never finished because i could not prove my identity. I need to access it so i can take it to the IRS office and prove who I am. How do i resume or access my 2016 return? it says i need to register my account but there is no option that i can find. I will not be using Turbo Tax this year. I just need access to that return information for 2016.

This link may help you access a prior year tax return.

If you cannot log into Turbo Tax at the Sign In screen, go down to I forgot my TurboTax User ID or password.

If you can log into TurboTax successfully, then you can check your account with Turbo Tax by using this link.  It will take you to Account Recovery, where you can update your information.

Have you located the account that you used to start your 2016 tax return?  Are there multiple accounts tied to your email address?
