After entering license code for 2021 Deluxe, TT said there was a problem; listing about 6 possible issues. The phone number for help that displayed was [phone number removed]. Is this a legitimate number? Contractor had me turn over computer to search for malware, trojans. Then gave me a pitch to upgrade my antivirus software. My question is: Is the number, outside contractor who said they ae located in Wyncote, PA. Is this all on the level?
A possible issue is that about 6-weeks ago I downloaded a free copy of Premier which was offered by one of my investment firms. Other than supplying preliminary info, I have not used it and purchased Deluxe. Perhaps, I should uninstall Premier. I advised the investment firm of my intent.

Thus, with time to file hanging over my head, Deluxe, which I purchased, will gather dust.
For the first time that I can recall, I'm signing into TT by going into a recent TT email to me that prompts us to click in the email to acquire the sign-on to get us moving to start working on our return. This is a real pain as I don't have the time to work on that shortcoming.

If you are planning to use the TurboTax Deluxe version, you could try deleting the Premier version to resolve this issue.

I don't understand. You don't need to sign into Turbo Tax to use the Desktop program. Did you get Premier downloaded and installed and Activated with the 16 digit License Code? It sounds like you are in the Online version and not your program.
If you see s black menu bar going down the left side that is the Online version.
If the free Premier was for the Online version I would switch and use your Deluxe Desktop program. The Desktop program has more features than the Online version.
Thanks so much for your advice. Per your point regarding the black menu bar at the left-it's there. If I was not able to activate the Deluxe product because Premier was already installed, I guess I would now uninstall Premier the normal way through Windows. Not having used Premier for many years, has it had the same characteristics for some time that I discovered today, or did TT do a major transformation this year. It is so different than Deluxe from last year-seems to have taken a lot of flexibility out of the user's hands.

I'm still trying to work on my 2021 return via TT. You suggested that I uninstall the free Fidelity Premier version which I have been unable to get working...like successfully downloading dividends, cap gain distributions, etc. from my investment firms or navigating through Premier. It is like nothing I have seen in TT"s software in the past. Second, contrary to your suggestion, I am reticent to uninstall Premier not knowing what will happen when I try to install Deluxe. I tried to install Deluxe which I purchased at Staples with the single state license. I tried to download it and install it by using a different username and password than that which I had used for my Premier version. Two concerns: 1) there is no identification as to the version---Deluxe or Premier, 2) They want to also charge me if I elect to use state. My Deluxe purchase is supposed to include one state.
I did file for an extension yesterday in case I'm still floundering. If I can start working on my returns, I will be done in 2-days. Thus, I would like to begin using Deluxe as soon as possible! But, if I use Deluxe, if will actually install, I'll have to pay for state even though it should be incorporated in my license. I can't keep 'winging' it/experimenting' Help! setshot
