That is an option if you do not want to pay the TurboTax online account fees with a credit card you can pay the fees using the Federal tax refund. There is a $40 service charge for that option by the third party processor.
See this TurboTax support FAQ for removing the pay with refund option - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/intuit-account-billing/remove-pay-refund...
Did you already e-file? If you have not e-filed you can still avoid those fees.
There is not a fee to e-file your tax return or to have direct deposit of your refund.
Did you choose to pay for using TurboTax by having the fee taken out of your federal refund? That means you will pay an EXTRA FEE of $40 ($45 in CA) to have a third party bank receive your refund from the IRS, take out enough to pay TT, and then send you the rest of the refund. ( The third party bank keeps the $40 or $45 fee for itself.)
You do not have to do that. Pay upfront BEFORE you file --- pay using a credit or debit card.

And you do NOT have to choose that "5 day early" offer---avoid that one like the plague. That is just one of the choices in the FILE section----you do not have to select it.
I called and asked the $35 fee to be refunded and They refused and said there is nothing they could do. I have been with TurboTax and Intuit for as long as I can remember and this will be my last year. What a scam!
