Hi! My work is based in GA and i attended a training there for two months. I was charged GA income tax just for those few paychecks and was told at the end of the year I cold get it all back since I never lived there and had no plans on living there. I am only getting a partial refund after putting everything into TT. Is there a way to get this money back since i was a non resident working in the state for a short period?

Since you did work in Georgia during your training period, you do have income that was earned in Georgia so the only way to possibly get a refund of some of the taxes that were withheld would be to file a non-resident Georgia tax return.
You did not mention where you reside, but if that state has an income tax return to file, be sure to complete it after you have worked through the Georgia return. Since some of your income is being taxed by Georgia, you can claim a credit for taxes paid to another state on your resident tax return. This will not allow you any larger refund from Georgia, but it should increase your refund or lower your taxes for your resident state.
What did you do in TT
Did you mention Non resident and did you indicate Georgia income --even if your company W2 mentioned
that you were paid in Georgia
You should not have any withholding including State, Local taxes for Georgia.
You can always go to View tab on the top left side of the TT, click and then click forms.
You will find your working copy where you can scroll down and delete the required amounts.
If required just override.
You can do this because it is your tax and you are responsible and you are not lying and you can answer IRS.
IRS will not audit people earning below $500K as most people below that do not attempt to shelter their taxes.
Hope this
I am sorry dear
I APPOLAZIE FOR MY EARROR OF NOT READING"""MY WORK IS BASED IN GEORGIA""
You have no choice other than to pay the Georgia taxes and there is no escape. Whoever told you you can get refund is all wrong.
I have no idea what the reduction is for you are looking for.
This the way our tax system is and we all follow it faithfully and TT helps us effectively.
Kind regards
You must file a Non-resident GA return. GA will tax a portion of that income so to state that you will receive all of it back is a misstatement. You will receive credit for it on your state return, however. Make sure to prepare the GA return first then prepare your state return so that the credit from GA will be applied accurately. Thank you for using TurboTax

Thanks for the short and effective clarification.
I just did not read the question properly and my replies were not satisfactory.

"I was told that I could get it all back since I never lived there" was likely not good tax advice.
