Form 8962 Exceptions

Hello.

Here is the situation. We are married and filing jointly. Not divorced, but live apart. Since wife lives in other country, she has insurance from this country (not Obamacare). But husband has insurance from marketplace for 2 people living in US - his and 20yo daughter (not dependent in tax return).

So when turbotax is asking "shared this policy with other taxpayer, who is not in tax return" there is a question about percentage. I think 50% is right answer in this case, but not sure that is true.

The other problem, that form8962 is not showing up in final PDF. It is probably the bug of software. because when I enter any amount to Advanced payment of PTC textbox, everything is OK.

But really the question about percentage. Which value is right? 50% or 100%?

health insurance is not required in 2019.

8962 only required if you had health insurance through the marketplace

No, the situation is little bit different.

Family of 3 people: wife, husband and child.

Tax report is for wife and husband, child is not dependent, because of the age.

Insurance from marketplace is for husband and child, wife is abroad whole year.

Child had no income and is not filing.

Question is about right percentage.
