If anyone is still trying to e-file before giving up and mailing their forms in, you must follow Deborahwrites1 advice to the letter... if you are just looking at your own forms list, that won't work. You will not see the ghost forms that may be present. You must search for Form 7206... if you are not searching specifically for Form 7206, then you won't find the 'ghost' forms that may be in your file if your like many of us. Once you delete the ghost forms which won't affect your taxes, then it will be accepted by the IRS. This should be an 'easy' fix for any competent programmer....remove ghost forms that are not needed..... so it's obvious that the TT programmers are just done with doing any more updates on this in time for April 15th. Good luck! Here's the link to Deborahwrites1's information, and I copied it also in case the link is broken (but just search and you'll find it on many threads) (https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/re-is-anyone-else-getting-the-code-r0000-058-01-r...)
1. Switch from EasyStep to Forms.
2. Click Open Form.
3. Search for Form 7206.
4. I had 5 listed in the results. I clicked on each one. 3 were nothing and ask you to select an existing Form 7206. 1 was associated with my K-1, and 1 was associated with my Schedule C. I deleted the 1 associated with Schedule C and kept the one associated with the K-1. (Two things to note: My 7206 has no relevance, so deleting it wouldn't affect bottom line. 2. After trying to delete it multiple times. It would immediately repopulate.) *If you have a K-1 that is necessary, make sure you don't have another that you should delete.
Great post…
you would think the TT experts could coach some of the people struggling through a tech support call…
Must be some directive from higher up TT that directing people to delete forms is not acceptable… i.e legal issues
Same problem as last filing season. Form 7206 cannot be e-filed. When will TT get this fixed?

The IRS Form 7206 for tax year 2024 is estimated to be finalized and available for e-filing on 02/06/2025.
Go to this TurboTax website for forms availability - https://form-status.app.intuit.com/tax-forms-availability/formsavailability?albRedirect=true&product...
Edit for typo on month
Pls advise re: Form 7206 working for 2024 return. Tx.
I won't know until I finish the return and try to e-file. TT needs to fix and test this on their end!

They updated the table to show that 7206 is available on 30 Jan 2025 and is available to efile on that same date but at least the desktop version of Turbo Tax still says not available to efile.
@DoninGA Are you aware that your comment only pertains to the on line version? Both the Windows and Mac versions show "Unsupported" for on line / e filing. (even though Ready for print on 1/30/25.)
The IRS posted the final 7206 on 12/4/24; virtually unchanged from the draft posted on 6/4/24. That draft was only changed from the 2023 version to update the dollar amounts for age brackets.
The final 7206 Instructions were posted on 12/6/24 and unchanged from the Draft posted on 11/12/24.
What is your opinion on the eventual intent to support e file of the desktop versions of this form, and do you have any confirmation of this from TT?
Thanks, John
@jbkennedy123 No, I was not aware. This is unusual since in most all years the forms supported for e-filing and/or for printing have been exactly the same on both the Online editions and the desktop editions.
I will post to the Moderators of this forum to ask if they can get confirmation from the developers.
@DoninGA Thanks! That will be helpful information, and I'm sure will reduce the confusion if we may pass it along.
Separately, I wonder if TT is building in provision to bypass this form entirely, per the Instructions on "How to figure the deduction," where the IRS says you can just use the worksheet unless one of 3 listed situations apply. My guess is that the bulk of folks don't really need the form.
Thanks again,
John
I have always used the desktop version of TT. Last year I could not e-file my return because of a TT issue with IRS Form 7206. It was a nigthmare as I had to print and US Mail the return and the one to the state initially got lost in the mail! TT needs to make certain that this problem is fixed and those of use who are self-employed and want to e-file don't have this issue for 2024 Returns and beyond!
I went through this last year and was finally able to efile my taxes. I dont think it is entirely the fault of TurboTax. Anyway, I think it will be resolved in the next few weeks. I can't file yet anyway because I'm still waiting for tax forms that are being sent by banks, etc.
I was able to e-file mine from desktop in February last year. I have no doubt it will work again this year.
Looks like today's update fixed the 7206 can't be filed problem.
