I am retired so my income doesn’t come in 4 equal installments.
I tried using the Other Tax Situations, Underpayment Penalty option under Federal Tax – TT just asked for 2023 data and concluded that there was no penalty (probably due to my payment of 110% of my 2023 tax)
I then tried filling in form 2210 Underpayment of estimated tax using Part II, option C – the annualized income installment method – I filled in my data as instructed.
For Part III Section A – line 11(a) – Turbotax entered an amount and referred to the Tax Payments Worksheet. But the amount is not on the Tax Payment Worksheet! I have no idea what this number is. Is this correct? What do I do now?

If you had withholding on your 1099-R, it may have been transferred as the Tax Payment you are seeing for the 2210.
Thanks for quick reply.
Yes, I did have a 1099-R, BUT, the number shown by TT on line 11(a) on Form 2210 Part III is not a figure either from any of my1099-R, or on the Tax Payments Worksheet. Is it supposed to be just a payment made for the first quarter of 2024?
If you would like to send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information it would help. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions: (Don't forget to give us the state)
TurboTax Online:
Open your return -Go to the menu panel on the left side of your return and select Tax Tools.
TurboTax Desktop:
If you like, you can send a copy of your return that will be scrubbed to eliminate your personal data by using these steps:
We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.
if you had no penalty because you met the safe harbor by paying 110% of your 2023 taxes, why are you doing Form 2210 AI - it shouldn't be needed; all you need to do is pay any remaining tax owed by 4/15?
