In Part 1 there are 3 columns (A, B or C). Each Column I have used for different entity which came from different sources such as K1 or 1099.
Software is asking me 3 times, , (3,A and 3, B and 3,C) Other deduction explanation.
Q: I am assuming A, B or C is reference to Columns on Form 1116, Part 1?
Number 3 comes from Part 1, then Deductions and losses? But there are 3a and 3b deduction lines. I did not add any deduction on my own, software imported 3a as Standard Deduction of $12550 and 3b as HSA deduction of $3600.
Q: I will enter same explanation 3 times, one for each Column (A, B or C) as (these explanation statement pop up and will not go away until I write something)?
3,a
Used Standard deduction of $12550
3,b
Deduction of $3600 HSA account contribution, see Form 1040 Schedule 1, Line 13

@sam992116 , absent any other issues, I don't yet see the problem. What it ( TurboTax) is trying to do is collect by country ( cols. A, B & C), the taxes paid, the gross ( PBT) incomes from these countries and allocate the deductions (that are specifically associated with these incomes and the standard / itemized ones ) to these income streams I.e. specific country incomes and your US incomes. This allows a true / allocated taxes attracted by each source of income ( US, foreign sources ) so as to be able to allocate the foreign tax credits due to each country source. So yes you may have to repeat some entries.
Note that the columns A, B, and C for each form 1116 is by country not by reporting document and each 1116 is by income classification.
Doe this help or do you need more clarification?
I will circle back
pk
It worked out fine. I have 3 different documents from 3 different countries.
RIC (mutual funds), Dividends (single stock qualified div.) and k1 so A, B and C worked out fine.
I did not have any specific deductions so I only added standard deduction and wrote that in explanation sheet what is this deduction.
Thanks
