Form 1099K for sale of personal nfl game tickets

The posting of IRS form 1099-K for personal item sales is a two-step process.

  • First, you post the IRS form 1099-K amount of box 1a.
  • Second, you post the IRS form 1099-B Proceeds From Broker and Barter Exchange Transactions to report the sales proceeds and the cost of sales.

Make sure that the amount reported on the IRS form 1099-K box 1a equals the Proceeds reported for the multiple entries of IRS form 1099-B.

If you report I sold some items at a loss or no gain at the screen Personal Item Sales, then the computation becomes:

The amount reported on the IRS form 1099-K box 1a less the amount you reported at I sold some items at a loss or no gain at the screen Personal Item Sales equals the Proceeds reported for the multiple entries of IRS form 1099-B.

If you are reporting dollars and cents down to the last penny, first round all entries to the nearest dollar.  Then make sure that the numbers balance before you start entering information into the software.

Form 1099K for sale of personal nfl game tickets

Thanks.

After entering 1099-K information as you desribe and then going to the Income Screen, I do see the following: Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other

However, I do not see where I can click UPDATE.  Is there another way to get to the screen where it says show “Personal items sales (1099-K)”?

As expected none of these recommendations worked now that I am done with my taxes and ready to file. I continue to get a "Needs review" alert on my 1099-K with no other advice, instructions or questions listed.   I tried all the various recommendations listed in this chat.

I will ignore this "Needs review" and submit my taxes "as is", as I've had to do for the last several years that I have had a Live Nation 1099-K.

TURBO TAX:  YOU NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. THIS ISSUE CAUSES ME (and I'm sure hundreds of other people) TO SPEND EXTRA HOURS ON MY TAX RETURN EVERY YEAR AND NEVER BE ABLE TO SUBMIT A TAX RETURN THAT DOES NOT HAVE A "NEEDS REVIEW" FLAG.
