At the Analysis section and at the Check this Entry on Schedule A, Line Q. I don’t have a schedule A from my 2020 taxes, but I did receive a Maryland state refund. Do I enter the amount of the refund here, sans a schedule A?
If you don't have a Schedule A in your 2020 return, you probably didn't itemize deductions, in which case your 1099-G for your state tax refund would not be taxable. You're just reporting it. Your stock sales that you mentioned would be on Schedule D.
To be sure, check Line 12a on your Form 1040. If you have an even amount there ($12,550 or $25,100) you used the Standard Deduction.

I've checked line 12 on my 1040 and see $13,977; however, I see Itemized Deduction worksheet, but at line 17 there's an entry of $13, 977, but line 18: If you elect to itemize...less than your standard deduction check this box, which is UNchecked Thanks for all your help
Itemized Deuctions says Schedule A.
I didn't notice that the Itemized Deduction worksheet is Schedule A, Although I believe that I took standard deduction in 2020 . The Analysis found 5 potential problems I entered zero for 4 of them and can't figure out how to return to see the original 5. I did the interview again but still arrived at only 1 in the analysis section. Do I need to get back there since I found Schedule A and if so, how?
You stated earlier that you had itemized and have proven it with your $13,977. You chose to itemize, not required. The 5 potential problems are down to one due to your entries- so the program can't show you something that is no longer an issue. There is no way to get back to the potential problems. However, you can go through the program and adjust any answers as needed. Be sure to review your state return for errors before filing. Once you have paid for the return, you can see all of the forms. Here is how:
Desktop: switch to Forms Mode
Online: You may need to go ahead and pay for the return so you can see the actual forms to find the issue. To do this:
