I received a letter from the IRS saying i should have received a form 1095-A to fill out form 8962. My ex husband and I take turns claiming our son every other year. He carries insurance on him so I recieved no 1095-A form. Idk what to do and of course the IRS has automated system that says they cant help with that topic maybe try to call next business day and hangs up. What do i need to do?

taking turns may be improper unless the custodial parent provides the non custodial parent with form 8332. during a tax year one one person can be custodial parent - the one the dependent lived with for more than 1/2 the year.
If someone else enrolled an individual in your tax family in
coverage, and APTC was paid for that individual’s coverage, you
must file Form 8962 to reconcile the APTC. You need to obtain a
copy of the Form 1095-A from the person who enrolled the
individual.
Tax family. For purposes of the PTC, your tax family consists of
the following individuals.
• Your dependents whom you claim on your 2018 tax return.
What if your ex husband refuses to provide a copy of 1095-A and the market place will not give you any information because you are not the one covering the kids insurance and you did not enroll them?
Use your attorney to send him a notice to comply.
