On my Turbotax form 1040 the amount on 5B is greater than the amount on 5A. How is that possible?

This can happen if you have a 1099-R that is fully taxable and not a required as an entry on Line 5A. Double check your 1099-R entries to be sure it's accurate and the Line 5B is the correct taxable amount.
