Spouse is a qualified performing artist. His misc itemizd business exps were accepted on TT. His AGI is well over $16k. Why was there no error msg for his AGI being over?

For being over the $16k limit for taking the qual perf artist deduction. TT places the deduction on the summary and reduces our tax liability even though we really shouldn't qualify.  Was hoping that I was missing something because we really need this deduction.  TT usually prompts us when we don't qualify for a deduction.
