Are there any circumstances under which I don't have to file a final tax return for my mother, who died in June, 2021?

Only if your mother's income was under the filing threshold for the year. The filing threshold for a single taxpayer is $12550 if single or $14250 if single over 65.

i keep getting a "not final - do not file" on my accepted and downloaded return on the first 4 pages. How can I print or download without this message?
