Filing for back taxes from several years ago

i had to quit work to appliy for disability. i had colon cancer and was mis-informed . i am 4 years lacking in paperwork on my things like 401-k. will the IRS be able to retrieve this information for me?

You can get a transcript of your 1099-r forms from the IRS. Please click this IRS link to and use the Get Transcript tool to request your wage and income transcript. It will show the information reported on any forms W-2, form 1099, form 1098, and form 5498 series. When you're ready to file your prior year returns, please follow the instructions in this TurboTax FAQ to proceed.

Thank you so much for responding to my question and so quickly. I think that i'm going to need to speak with some one on the phone. All of the 5 years that I had was from different retirement type funding and being ignorant as I was i should have kept all of my paper work. thank you again, this was very helpful. Halfpint1
