Filing date for husband wife LLC (TX)

My wife and I will be filing as a qualified joint venture (materially participating husband wife LLC in community property state) and are waiting on some investment K1s which should arrive March 22. What is the filing date, March 15th or April 15th? I am hoping we can file late March after receipt of the investment K1s rather than have to file an extension.

If you and your wife are filing as a QJV, that means you are each filing a separate Schedule C on your joint 1040.

In that instance, your due date for your return (1040) is April 18th (4/15/2023 is a Saturday and 4/17/2023 is a D.C. holiday).

no partnership return is filed based on what you provided.

Because you are filing 2 schedule Cs instead of a 1065, the deadline is the usual April 18 deadline for personal tax returns.  Also, both the March 15 deadline for form 1065 and the April 18 deadline for personal tax returns can be extended 6 months with an automatic extension request as long as you file the extension request before the proper deadline.
