Filing an amendment after the allowable 5 e-files

I have utilized all 5 of my allowable e-files in my TurboTax Deluxe product for 2022 taxes.  I now have to file an amendment on one of these 5 and it is not allowing me.

1 - it seems like the 5-limit should not apply to amendments (given my "IRS rules" understanding of why the 5-limit is in place).

2- I'm frustrated by the above but OK filing this amendment by mail but the program won't let me advance to do this - I select "file by mail" and I get the same message that I have reached my limit and can't advance past to print the proper forms and to get to the State amendment forms.

You need to complete the entire amendment interview including any state before you can print or file the amendment.  You will not be able to file federal in the middle of the process.
