Filed MFS last year, MFJ this year. Intuit says to enter 2020 AGIs separately. But there is only one box for 2020 AGI.

My spouse and I filed our 2020 taxes MFS, and this year we are filing MFJ.

According to this article on TurboTax's help page:  How do we handle our AGI if we used Married Filing Separately in 2020 but are filing jointly in 2021...  we need to enter our respective AGIs separately.

Problem:  There is only one box for doing so!

The help article clearly states that spouses filing MFJ for 2021, who filed MFS in 2020, should not combine their AGIs ‒ but they should list them separately.  So I have done the math and it looks like there is only one  box.  Next, I counted my spouse and I, and the total that I found was two (me and my spouse) ‒ implying two 2020 AGIs.  One box… two 2020 AGIs… so whose AGI goes into the box… mine or my spouse’s???  Intuit says to enter them separately so why is there one box? 

Also (assuming we can figure out whose 2020 AGI goes into the box ‒ mine or my spouse’s?) where do we enter the other spouse’s 2020 AGI?  Again, back to the “one box” conundrum.

Go back to the My Info section and make sure your filing status is Married Filing Jointly. The heading in your screen shot should say "To Continue, Select from the Options Below for John" (or whatever your first name is). Then the next screen would say "for Alice" (your spouse's name).

Update:  I combined our 2020 MFS AGIs and the IRS accepted.

I filed Head of Household in 2021 and my spouse filed MFS;  this year I'm trying to file our taxes MFJ.  I can't make the AGI and the efile keeps getting kicked back.  I tried using mine, his and a combination of both.  HELP...does Turbo Tax have the option of taking each AGI?
