Filed last year before I recieved a 1099-NEC how do I go about this, this year?

Last year I filed my taxes, everything was accepted and I got my return etc. I totally forgot about a 1099-NEC that I had and did not amend or do anything about it.

This year I have my taxes ready to go but I was not sure how to go about adding this 1099 from last years taxes.

Do I still need to file an amended 2023 return? I read something about there being a 3 year time period you can do this from the original filing date

With that being said I tried to work on amending and its then asking me to fill out a bunch of business stuff?? I am super confused why I cant just add my 1099-NEC and pay the difference.

Yes, you should amend the 2023 tax return. If you have a balance due, it's recommended to file and pay as soon as you realize you need to amend in order to stop the penalties and interest from accruing.

Form 1099-NEC is used for non-employee compensation, which is often paid to freelancers or contractors and reported on Schedule C, which is why you are being asked business questions. If you have no related expenses, you can answer the questions and report just the income on Schedule C.
