Filed jointly previous years, wife didnt make income last year due to income, do we still file jointly?

My wife was in an accident in 2015, in 2016nshe was recovering and not working. Do I file jointly or not?

yes, filing jointly will maximize your refund or minimize the taxes you owe.  Jointly simply means that is the only return that will be filed by a married couple.
