Stop trying to help individuals. This is not a 1 person problem.
It is an aggregate problem. Your integration is broken.
Escalate the issue so it gets visibility to those that need to know.
Obviously, we do not expect tech support to go code the fix.
But if your dev teams are not aware of the problem they won't ever fix this.
Joe,
Did you try what worked for me? I reset my Fidelity password to a shorter password. Once I did that I was able to import the data. I then went back and reset the password to something longer. Give that a try and let everyone know if that works for you.
I agree this appears to be a bug in the software and should be fixed.
I would like to take a deeper look at this. However, I need a diagnostic file which is a copy of your tax return that has all of your personal information removed. You can send one to us by following the directions below:

I am also having a problem with Fidelity not importing information and giving a username/password error via Turbotax online. I tried changing my Fidelity password to a shorter one and I still have the problem, it has not worked for over a week now. It worked perfectly last year with no issue. Can I provide the diagnostic number for mine as well for you to take a look? Token number is 924041. Thank you.
Lindsey, thank you for your offer to help. While I'm more than happy to send you my tax return, I am casting a jaundice eye at the likelihood of solving this problem this way. The problem is not with my return. The problem is an error in the section of TurboTax that is supposed to enable the uploading of 1099 int and 1099 div info from financial firms. Specifically, I have several Fidelity accounts and when I click on the "upload from Fidelity" button and enter my Fidelity username and password, I get an error message indicating I am not able to do this.
If after your review of my problem, you still feel that providing you my tax return will solve this problem. Please tell me why you think that and I will promptly send it to you.
Thanks,
Joe
I tried changing my Fidelity password and still was not able to access my tax statements through TurboTax.
But thanks for the tip.
Joe
@LindseyLO 932226 this is the token number as I am not able to import 1099 from fidelity. Please help!!!!
Fidelity now (Feb 2022) uses a "more secure" proprietary access data link called "Fidelity Access". They no longer allow third party apps to "scrape" tax info, unless they (e.g. TT) have agreed to enroll in Fidelity's new system. Here is a link to Fidelity Access's FAQs:
https://www.fidelity.com/security/fidelity-access-data-security
TT apparently doesn't have an interest in answering questions or reporting bugs, (shame on them), so I don't know if they have signed up with Fidelity, but considering all the angst in the responses to this question, I doubt it.
Anyone know?
Thanks to this community for trying to do what should be the job of TT, to which we have all paid too much!
Thank you so much. I called Turbo Tax customer support and they said that they are releasing a patch by 1st week of March to fix the issue of Fidelity. Lets see!
Who/what group did you call? I would like to call them as well. I figure the more attention brought to this, the more likely they will actually fix it.
Thanks,
Joe
I called the following phonen1-800-446-8848 and followed all the prompt until I got the customer support and talked to them about Fidelity issue
TT is sneaky, they removed the phone number.
However, I have good news. They fixed the problem. I was able to upload all my Fidelity info.
You should get on and try it.
Joe
Thank you for the update! I will try today to upload my forms.
