I have an offer from Fidelity for free TT premier 2021. I used the link on my Fidelity page, logged in to my Intuit account as directed and did my taxes in several sittings. Now Fidelity is asking me to pay $74 for Fed and $49 for state!! That would be $53 more than had I bought the CD at Costco including state e-file fee like I had done for the last 20 years.
Turbo tax customer support people are very rude and they had essentially said they are unaware of any such offer from Fidelity. One agent on phone with me wanted to see the offer and asked me to give access to my desktop which I did but for some reason her monitor kept freezing whenever I went out of TT page to Fidelity page. She had then said she would generate an email to which I would upload screenshots. However after she worked for 10 minutes on that, I got a different agent come on and she had no idea what had happened thus far. I had to explain everything to her and she said she couldn't do anything as she was only switchboard operator!
Atrocious state of affairs. They are certainly losing a long time customer next year because its too late for me to move to some other software for this year!
